I have long been enthralled by the great work that Google do with Google Earth. As a Geographer, it has been an essential tool to my classroom teaching for quite a few years. Not only is it a brilliant tool to inspire students and gain their focus, it can be used as a tool to promote literacy and geographical understanding across the curriculum.
I have spoken on a number occasions about using ‘Virtual Field trips’ to instil a sense of wonder and passion into students. The beauty of these is that you can let imaginations run wild, raise student aspirations and get some great pieces of work in return.
